CARLOS DENGLER
Ricochet 2022-2024 is retrospective collection of ‘worldbeat’ works from composer/producer Carlos Dengler’s six solo releases since 2022. This 10 track re-mastered collection includes the brand new ‘Immaculate’ and ‘Neo Cambria’, a reimagining of a previously released track, ‘New Cambria.’ Dengler’s recent foray into New Age, Ambient and Worldbeat has been welcomed with enthusiastic reviews and support from Chuck van Zyl/STAR'S END, NPR’s Tones & Drones Podcast with Jason Miller, heard daily onSiriusXM Spa radio The Morning Breeze, OneWorld Music Radio, Modul303 and others globally.
Dengler's fascinating evolution into New Age and Ambient music from his roots as renowned influential role as the original bassist and keyboardist of the band Interpol, showcases his versatility and artistic growth in multiple fields. Since departing the rock scene in 2010, Carlos has gone back to school earning an MFA in Acting and established a writing career as a personal essayist. While 2022’s Aqueduct was his first proper music project in many years, the period 2010-2022 brought an essential new focus to Dengler’s artistic life and his music compositions. Since reemerging as a solo artist in 2022, Dengler has 6 solo releases, and has introduced his hand as a Producer with a new single and album from NYC post-punk band London Plane, and more to come.
Fans of Dengler’s new music experience the intricate blending of his Gothic 1990s roots (especially the neoclassical variety popularized by Dead Can Dance), with his passion for the ambient works of "spiritual minimalists" like Arvo Pärt and Henryk Gorecki, and his love of music by more “active” sounding new age artists like Patrick O'Hearn, David Darling, Alio Die, and David Parsons. The influence of these masters can be heard in Dengler’s albums, empowering Dengler to explore the infinite possibilities of organic textures and electro acoustic soundscapes.
The collection of music on Ricochet 2022-2024, features Dengler performing on most everything hear: from the synthesizers, to the guitar, to the percussion, to the engineering, the artwork and all remastered in his home studio. Additionally you’ll hear the magnificent performances of Keith Bonner on flute, Paul Brantley on cello and Suhail Yusuf Khan on sarangi. The two new works on, ‘Immaculate’ and ‘Neo Cambria’ brings those 90’s gothic and electronic worldbeat roots to front with nods to legendary artists like Enigma and Deep Forest.

SCANNER
Robin Rimbaud, alias Scanner (b. 1964, London, UK), is a British composer whose work traverses the experimental terrain between sound, space and image. Since 1991 he has been intensely active in sonic art, producing concerts, installations and recordings. His work has been presented throughout the United States, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.
Albums including Mass Observation (1994), The Garden is Full of Metal (1998) and An Ascent (2020) have been widely acclaimed as innovative and influential works.
Committed to collaboration across disciplines, he has worked with leading practitioners including Bryan Ferry, Wayne McGregor, Laurie Anderson and Pauline Oliveros, among others.
